Overview
This position is primarily responsible for assisting homebuyers in selection of all interior products for homes. The Design Studio Counselor helps buyers in selection of all standard and upgrade options to personalize home, and ensures information is correctly input and communicated to Field with adherence to construction schedules.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities
  • Conducts design appointments for selections of options with new homebuyers.
  • Provides buyers with product information, available upgrade options, pricing information within buyers' budget limitations.
  • Provides design guidance to buyers in selections by coordinating materials and colors to satisfy buyers' requirements.
  • Calculates pricing and prepares change order contract items for buyers' review and enters data into BOSS.
  • Handles all revisions relating to color selections and change order options in timely and accurate manner with phase cut off schedule adherence.
  • Acts as liaison between construction, subcontractors, sales and field.
  • Responds to questions from Field, Warranty and contractors on change orders and color selections and to buyers' issues.
  • Organizes, updates and replaces showroom samples. Assists in researching new products and provides recommendations based on buyers request.

Education & Experience
  • High school graduate preferred.
  • Some management experience preferred.

Skills & Abilities
  • Strong verbal communication skills to interact with staff, homebuyers, subcontractors and outside sales representatives.
  • Strong problem resolution skills.
  • Detail oriented.

Technical Knowledge & Experience
  • Proficiency with computer and with financial calculator; systems knowledge.
  • Design knowledge and color coordinating skills preferred.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stoop, bend, push, pull or otherwise move object weighing as much as 30 lbs.
  • Some on-site visits to model homes prior to completion where temperature weather and noise may vary; may encounter electrical, dust, poor ventilation, dangerous machinery and moving objects and toxic conditions
