SUPERVISION:

Non-Supervisory.

DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS:

  • Public Health Nurse I: This is the entry level position in public health nursing classification series. This position is responsible for performing the more routine tasks and duties assigned. Assignments are generally limited in scope and are performed within a procedural framework.

GENERAL PURPOSE OF JOB:

  • Provide comprehensive professional public health nursing services in a variety of office, clinic, and community settings.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Public Health Nurse I:

  • Under close supervision, performs routine public health nursing services for the public in offices, outlying clinics, and community settings.
  • Participates in Garfield County Public Health activities requiring RN participation and community outreach.
  • Participates in continuing education offerings.
  • Reviews all work products to ensure highest level of quality.
  • Performs emergency response roles, as requested.

Other duties as assigned.
