Job description

Way Mechanical is a mechanical contractor located in Irving, TX. We specialize in installation of commercial air conditioning, plumbing, piping, and the maintenance of these systems. We are currently seeking for an experienced Startup & Commissioning Technician to join our team.

Responsibilities:
  • Review equipment submittals and Controls submittals for compliance with contract documents
  • Assist Project Managers with coordination of equipment start-up and Commissioning.
  • Work closely with Control Subs and Equipment Vendors during Startup and Commissioning. 
  • Manage Commissioning deficiency logs ex: Cx Alloy. 
  • Review and complete Pre-Functional Checks & Functional Performance Tests
  • Diagnosing HVAC, refrigeration, and performance through observation, testing, and setup
  • Ability to perform troubleshooting and preventative maintenance on HVAC and Plumbing equipment
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, gauges, and measuring equipment
Qualifications: 
  • Ability to follow construction plans and specifications for proper installation and repair.
  • Must be able to pass a drug screen.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a good driving record
  • Stable work history showing responsibility and professional growth
  • Ability to effectively communicate with peers, supervisors, and the customer.
  • Prior experience with building automation systems (BacNET, Low Voltage Wiring, Control Valves, etc..)
  • Prior HVAC Technician experience 
  • Experience with laser pump alignments, Air Handlers, Fans, Cooling Towers, Chillers, Dx Split, VRF etc.. working on equipment commonly found in commercial building applications.
