Job Description

Selected is looking for a creative, energetic and highly versatile Social Content Creator to produce engaging, personality-driven content across the brand’s social platforms.

This creator will film, edit, design, publish and occasionally host social-first content that brings Selected’s shopping journalism to life. The work may include short-form product reviews, explainers, demonstrations, graphics, trend-driven videos, interviews, behind-the-scenes content and recurring original series.

The ideal candidate has strong creative instincts, a natural on-camera presence and a deep understanding of how audiences engage with content on TikTok, Instagram and YouTube. They can take an idea from pitch to publication, whether that means writing a script, filming a product demonstration, designing a graphic in Figma or editing a fast-paced vertical video in Adobe Premiere Pro.

This role will work closely with the Social Media Editor, reporters, editors, producers and visual teams. The Social Content Creator will be one of the people helping define how Selected looks, sounds and feels across social platforms, with a particular focus on reaching younger audiences through useful, credible and entertaining storytelling.

Responsibilities

  • Create original social-first content for TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, Threads, X, Bluesky and emerging platforms.
  • Film, edit and produce short-form vertical videos, including product reviews, shopping explainers, demonstrations, comparisons, recommendations and trend-driven content.
  • Serve as one of the recognizable on-camera personalities for Selected.
  • Pitch original content ideas for video, graphics, carousels, recurring franchises and other social formats.
  • Design social graphics, templates and visual assets using Figma or similar design tools.
  • Assist in managing the organic social content calendar.
  • Schedule and publish content across Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, YouTube, Threads, X, Bluesky and other platforms.
  • Write and optimize platform-specific copy, headlines, descriptions, tags and calls to action.
  • Adapt content appropriately for different platforms rather than publishing identical versions everywhere.
  • Monitor social trends, creator formats, platform features, sounds and audience conversations.
  • Quickly identify relevant trends that Selected can participate in credibly.
  • Develop rapid-response content around trending products, breaking commerce news, launches, recalls, sales and seasonal moments.

PLEASE NOTE: This is a short-term position with an estimated duration of 12 months, unless otherwise amended or terminated as deliverables within this project are completed. Candidates are eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked in 12 consecutive months.

Salary range: $28.85–$33.65/hr

What we’ll offer: Production Employee (PEP) Regular who works more than 1,000 hours per measurement period:

  • Eligible for 401K after 1,000 hours worked in 12 consecutive months
  • Eligible for Health and Welfare benefits on 1st day of employment
  • Eligible to participate in Employee Stock Purchase Program after 90 days of employment
Qualifications
  • At least 2 years of professional experience creating social or digital content for a publisher, brand or creator-led account
  • A strong portfolio of short-form vertical video and social-first storytelling.
  • Experience creating social graphics in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite or similar tools.
  • A confident, natural and engaging on-camera presence.
  • Deep understanding of TikTok, Instagram and YouTube formats, trends and audience behavior.
  • A collaborative, flexible and self-directed work style.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • A distinct creative voice and genuine enthusiasm for connecting directly with audiences.

Additional Requirements:

  • Interested candidates must submit a resume/CV through nbcunicareers.com to be considered
  • Candidate must have unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States
  • Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
