Overview

The Digital Content Specialist is an entry-level, non-exempt position that reports to the Communications Manager. This role helps support United Health Centers' digital presence by assisting with video projects, social media, email marketing, and online outreach. The position also supports UHC TV by helping create engaging, patient-friendly content shared across digital platforms.

This role works closely with multiple departments to help tell UHC's story, promote services, and connect with the community through creative and digital communication efforts.

Responsibilities

Summary of Responsibilities:

Works closely with the Communications Manager and various UHC teams, this position will:

  • Assist with social media posts, email campaigns, and digital outreach
  • Help create and edit video content, including patient stories and promotional materials
  • Support website updates and digital projects to improve user experience
  • Contribute content and ideas for UHC TV
  • Help manage email marketing tools and contact lists
  • Support UHC Foundation through creative design contributions and event coordination

PERFORMANCE AREA 1: Video Production and Storytelling

  • Assisting with planning, filming and editing videos
  • Help produce patient testimonials, promotional videos, and community stories

PERFORMANCE AREA 2: Digital Presence Support

  • Support digital projects that improve patient and community engagement
  • Help maintain online platforms and digital tools

PERFORMANCE AREA 3: Social Media and Email Marketing

  • Help create and schedule social media content
  • Assist with email campaigns and maintaining contact lists

 PERFORMANCE AREA 4: External Communications, UHC TV, and Foundation Support

  • Support content creation and scheduling for UHC TV.
  • Assist with communication campaigns, and ensure consistent messaging 
  • Provide design and creative support for UHC Foundation events
Qualifications

Qualification Requirements

Education:

  • Associate's degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Digital Media, or a related field required. Bachelor's degree preferred.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION:

  • Possess a valid Driver's License

PRIOR EXPERIENCE:

  • Some experience (internship, coursework, volunteer work, or 1 year of related work) in marketing, communications, social media, or digital media preferred. Experience in healthcare or community organizations is a plus.

Skills:

  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) with ability to read, write, and translate materials for patient/ community understanding is a plus.
  • Familiarity with video editing, graphic design, or content creation tools is a plus.
  • Creative flair and enthusiasm for design; flexible approach to teamwork.
  • Comfortable learning website and email marketing systems 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Creative, detailed-orientated, and organized.
  • Able to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Reliable and dependable
  • Demonstrates good problem-solving skills; sound judgment.
  • Able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously with flexibility and dependability

The hourly wage range that UHC reasonably expects to pay for the position upon hire starts at $25.41 an hour. Our salaries are dependent on knowledge, skills, and experience.
