The Matrix Sciences Laboratory in our Sherwood, Oregon location provides pesticide residue testing for clients throughout the country and internationally. It serves the agricultural and environmental communities' testing needs with a comprehensive range of capabilities and services.

Role summary:

The Seasonal Laboratory Assistant performs laboratory support responsibilities in a fast-paced production environment; routine testing of food and environmental samples for quantitative parameters. This Seasonal, full time position will begin in June and extend through late October or early November. We have flexibility related to end dates.

What youโ€™ll do:

  • Prepare and process plant tissue, soil, water, and pesticide residue samples for analysis by performing tasks such as homogenization, extraction, and other standardized laboratory preparation procedures.
  • Perform and document routine laboratory maintenance tasks such basic equipment monitoring, waste disposal and cleaning (laboratory and labware).
  • Assist Lab Technicians in sample preparation and weighing of test items, as required.
  • Adhere to lab safety procedures and reporting standards.
  • Follow written Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • Other duties may be assigned to assist with the operations of the lab.
