Here's what you'll do:
  • Perform initial inbound quality inspections and communicate findings cross departmentally as needed.
  • Facilitate the Production team's work orders.
  • Inspect products returned by our customers and decide what should be donated, composted, or returned back into inventory.
  • Determine product appropriate for community food program donations and coordinates shipment of product through those food program vendors.
  • Curate and provide sample products to coworkers throughout the organization for educational purposes and to cultivate a passion for produce.
  • Inspect in-house inventory quality and update the necessary systems.
  • Collect, store, and ensure proper disposal/recycling of inbound temperature recorders.
  • Actively seek out areas for improvement and facilitate Continuous Improvement (CI) processes to resolve problems and improve product and service quality.

Requirements
Qualified candidates will have:
  • Minimum two years of commercial produce experience or combined equivalent experience.
  • Quality control experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and the ability to focus for extended periods.
  • Ability to work cohesively in a team environment.
  • Ability to switch tasks quickly and efficiently as needed.
  • Ability to effectively time manage daily tasks, prioritizing email communication and core tasks over extracurricular needs.

It's helpful if you bring:
  • Knowledge of sustainable business practices
  • Knowledge of USDA training and standards
  • Knowledge of safe warehouse operating practices and procedures

Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to stand for long periods of time. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds on a regular basis. Must be able to work in a cold and damp environment for extended periods of time. Standing, stooping, and bending are required. Must also be able to key data efficiently and accurately frequently on a computer. Requires the ability to accurately receive and disseminate information to maintain and enhance relationships. Ability to meet the above description of position with or without reasonable accommodation.
