Job description

Nomad eCommerce is seeking a detail-oriented and resourceful Implementation Engineer to join our growing team. At Nomad, we specialize in delivering innovative B2B eCommerce solutions, and in this role you'll bring our platform to life by executing and supporting client implementations. Your work will directly influence how customers interact with our technology-transforming business requirements into robust, functional storefronts that streamline operations and drive growth.


Our Implementation Engineer executes the implementation of specific web projects at Nomad. You will be responsible for the full life-cycle of incidents, problems, and projects that arise from building B2B focused eCommerce storefronts. The position will require close working with our Project Specialists and Dev teams with a focus on augmenting the technical aspects of our projects.


What You'll Do

  • Lead the technical execution of B2B-focused eCommerce storefront implementations, guiding projects from requirements gathering through launch
  • Partner directly with customers to gather requirements, document needs, and translate them into actionable workflows and technical blueprints.
  • Configure, map, and troubleshoot customer data to ensure smooth integration with Nomad's platform.
  • Develop and customize features using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS to meet customer design and functionality goals.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure a seamless project life cycle.
  • Support customer projects by maintaining configurations, solving data structure challenges, and optimizing workflows.
  • Serve as the "voice of the customer," balancing technical accuracy with clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.
  • Take initiative in a remote-first environment-managing tasks independently while staying connected to your team.
  • Contribute to Nomad's culture of autonomy, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Other duties may be assigned to meet business needs


Required Skills

  • Extensive experience interpreting software needs and identifying functionality paths from conversational requirement gathering
  • Experience building websites on database driven platforms
  • Experience in writing Javascript based features on websites
  • Experience using HTML / CSS to accomplish design goals
  • Experience with MS SQL stored procedures and databases
  • Basic knowledge of IIS and administrative tasks in IIS
  • Basic knowledge of DNS
  • Basic knowledge of ERP systems
  • Excellent understanding of relational databases and how data structures relate to each other
  • Capable of being self-motivated and directed in a remote environment
  • Advanced analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Pragmatic & solution-oriented
  • Willingness to work with non-technical team members
  • Willingness to take a consultative approach with customers and our team
  • Prior experience with agencies or consulting firms focused on web projects is a plus.
