Entry level position preparing fibers for medical surgical products. Assemblers use hand tools and light power tools to process fiber.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities are representative, but not all inclusive of the knowledge, skills, and abilities required to perform this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.

  • Aligns and joins parts into housing, modifies, fabricates, and builds equipment and subassemblies using power tools, hand tools, and various soldering equipment.
  • Follows instructions on work order cleaves and tests fiber.
  • Adds RFD tag, measures and aligns fiber for laser.
  • Sends completed fiber to stock location.
  • Records order in production database.
  • Retrieves completed fibers from stock for packaging and labeling.
  • Sends completed fiber to sterilizer then on to Quality Assurance department.
  • Solves minor problems and recognizes bigger problems that require supervisor assistance.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Education:
    • High school or equivalent; vocational school graduate preferred.
  • Experience:

  • Skills:
    • Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, or schematics.
    • Basic computer literacy (Microsoft Office, data entry, production software).
  • Physical Requirements:
    • Ability to lift up to 15 lbs.
    • Standing, bending, reaching, and walking for extended periods.
