Job description:

Position Title: Service Technician Band 1

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Service technician band 1 is responsible for general maintenance in commercial truck repair environment.

Responsible for the completion of jobs assigned within the departmental established time frame.

Responsible for performing 60% to 70% of assigned jobs on their own with minimal guidance.

Responsible for reporting any problems and/or concerns within the service environment to the Service Manager and/or Service Advisor

Responsible for attending training classes as required. Study shop/service materials and manuals as they relate to your

job.

Responsible for performing all other duties as assigned.

SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILS AND ABILITY:

Ability to listen and communicate with co-workers. Must have verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to follow written and oral instructions, solve problems, and operate assigned equipment.

Knowledge of welding, mechanical, and electrical equipment. Knowledge of 12 volt electrical and hydraulic systems. Ability to read quotes, work orders, inspection forms and instruction sheets. Ability to perform basic math calculations.

Ability to complete work orders on computer or mobile device

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS:

Education

A high school diploma or GED is required. Combination of education, training, or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Additional training in heavy duty truck repairs preferred.

Experience

A minimum of one year experience in heavy duty truck/engine repairs and installation is required.

Licenses or Certificates

A valid driver's license is required. CDL and DOT medical card is mandatory if vehicle is to be driven off premises.

Other team member must provide own tools.
