Job description

Being a good investor and being a good firm are two different things. We want to be both.
We are an Atlanta-based private equity firm with $42 billion in assets under management specializing in franchise and franchise-like business models. Our portfolio companies span multiple sectors including restaurants, business and consumer services, health and wellness, and education and youth activities.
Since our founding in 2001, we have been guided by the same core values - do what's right and long-term smart, regardless of conventional wisdom...even when it's hard, and even when no one's looking.
We view investing as a team sport. Our goal is shared success - for customers, employees, franchisees, strategic partners, service providers, management teams, and shareholders. We have a focused investment strategy that provides pattern recognition and a deep belief in win-win partnerships.
We partner with market-leading companies and management teams and believe in value creation through operational excellence. Currently, they generate $100 billion in annual system sales from 117,000+ locations across the globe.
The Opportunity:
Roark is hiring a Social Impact and Communications Coordinator to manage internal communication systems and digital content and help deliver events that bring together Roark's team and portfolio companies. This is an entry-level opportunity that will allow for development in the areas of content writing, project management, event execution, systems ownership, and vendor coordination, while gaining exposure to a portfolio of well-known consumer brands and the leaders behind them. This is an ideal role for someone who is organized, curious, collaborative and excited to learn.
Key Responsibilities:
Event registration & communication system
  • Manage our in-house registration and communication platform for all events including building event pages, managing invitation and RSVP lists, sending communications, and tracking responses
  • Serve as the go-to person for how the system works, and maintain accuracy

Internal/External communications
  • Manage content for office screens and digital signage
  • Produce Roark's internal newsletter by gathering content, writing and editing, and sending on schedule
  • Coordinate environmental branding updates across our spaces
  • Manage ongoing website content updates including new pages, refreshed copy, images, and news items
  • Keep site content accurate and consistent with our brand voice as needed

Invoicing & administration
  • Manage team invoicing, vendor payment coordination, and related tax documentation
  • Keep records organized and meet deadlines

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in marketing, communications, or hospitality
  • Clear, careful writing with genuine attention to detail
  • Comfort learning new software quickly
  • Ability to collaborate positively, interact with senior management, and be a culture carrier
  • Demonstrate curiosity and initiative, discretion and good judgment
  • A low-ego, roll-up-your-sleeves approach

Benefits
Roark provides a highly competitive package that includes, but is not limited to:
  • Base salary plus annual performance bonus
  • Medical, dental, vision, life insurance and long-term disability insurance
  • 401k with employer match
  • Paid time off and holidays
  • Breakfast, lunch, snacks and drinks are provided daily in the office

Our team is based in Atlanta, GA, and we love the energy of working together in person. This role is fully on-site, five days a week.
