Mirror Works delivers precision glass and mirror systems for commercial projects across the Phoenix, Arizona metropolitan area. Our in-house fabrication and installation teams provide consistent execution from frame to finish. In business since 1986, we work alongside general contractors, developers, architects, and builders on projects where coordination matters and details can't be left to chance.
Position Summary
Mirror Works is a commercial glazing contractor in Glendale, Arizona and we are hiring is hiring lead-level commercial door installers. Our work runs across the Phoenix metro, including healthcare projects for Mayo Clinic and HonorHealth. The Drafter prepares accurate 2D drawings, details, and revisions in AutoCAD. This is an entry-level role designed for someone early in their drafting career who wants to build technical depth, learn our standards, and grow with an exciting team. Accuracy, attention to detail, and willingness to take direction and feedback are more important than years of experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Create and edit 2D drawings, plans, sections, details, and assembly views in AutoCAD from sketches, markups, and verbal direction.
  • Apply company and industry drafting standards for layers, line weights, dimensioning, title blocks, and annotation.
  • Incorporate redlines and revisions accurately and within assigned deadlines.
  • Maintain drawing files, revision logs, and plot sets in accordance with file-naming and record-retention procedures.
  • Generate bills of material, parts lists, and dimensional schedules from drawings.
  • Check own work for dimensional accuracy, completeness, and conflicts prior to submitting for review.
  • Coordinate with production, and project management to clarify design intent and resolve discrepancies.
  • Print, scan, and distribute drawing packages; assist with archiving of completed projects.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD (2D): drawing setup, layers, blocks, external references, dimensioning, and plotting.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings, sketches, and markups.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy; able to self-check work.
  • Ability to accept direction and constructive feedback and apply it consistently.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred
  • Internship, co-op, apprenticeship, or school portfolio demonstrating AutoCAD work.
  • Familiarity with GD&T, ANSI/ASME, or applicable industry drafting standards.
  • Basic understanding of glazing, manufacturing, fabrication, or construction processes.
  • AutoCAD Certified User / Professional certification.
  • Associate degree, technical certificate, or equivalent coursework in Drafting, CAD, Design Technology, or Engineering Technology.
