Copier Technician - Entry Level Shop/ Field Service Technician


At Automated Business Technologies we partner with our customers to enhance and create efficiency within their workspace. A variety of services that are offered to our customers that include printing and copying devices, large print production devices, building access control, VOIP phone systems, managed IT services and many other offerings.

We're looking for a mechanically inclined individual with moderate to advanced computer and network knowledge to join our team. Individuals must have a willingness to work in a varied capacity and be able to learn on the job. Formal training will be provided as the candidate progresses with the company. Individuals will assist with building, setup, installation and repair of printers and copiers, network troubleshooting, and using phone and computer-based software to document and manage workload. This is a great opportunity for someone eager to learn and grow in a hands-on technical role.


Key Responsibilities

  • Device Assembly & Setup

    • Unbox and assemble printers and copiers
    • Configure devices based on customer needs (Scan to File, Scan to Email, network setup, driver installation)
  • Field Service & Installation

    • Assist in delivery and installation of devices at customer sites
    • Ensure end-users are connected and able to print successfully
    • Provide basic training and support to customers during installation
  • Technical Troubleshooting & Repairs

    • Support in-shop repairs of customer devices
    • Diagnose and resolve hardware and software issues
    • Perform routine maintenance and updates
  • Documentation & Workflow Management

    • Accurately log builds, repairs, and service calls using ERP software
    • Maintain organized records of parts, service history, and customer interactions

Skills / Qualifications:

  • Higher consideration is given to candidates with OEM certifications
  • Strong functional and technical skills
  • IT knowledge, above average computer skills
  • Team-oriented with solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Clean driving record and insurability required

Compensation:

Base salary $30-45K annual, plus performance incentives.
