Job description

Installation & Sales Support Specialist | Entry-Level Sales Opportunity
Hillyard, Inc. is currently seeking an Installation & Sales Support Specialist to join our Sales team in Lino Lakes, MN.
Are you good with your hands, comfortable using basic tools, and great with customers?
Have you ever thought about getting into sales but don't have traditional sales experience?
This could be your opportunity to learn the business from the ground up while building the skills for a future career in sales.
As an Installation & Sales Support Specialist, you'll work directly with our customers and Sales team in the field. You'll install items such as soap and chemical dispensers, assist with product and equipment demonstrations, support floor care projects, and learn how Hillyard helps customers solve their facility challenges.
We're looking for someone who has the hands-on ability to install and troubleshoot basic equipment along with the personality and customer service skills to build strong relationships.
We'll help you learn the products, solutions, and sales side of the business.
What You'll Do
  1. Install soap, chemical, and other dispensing systems at customer locations.
  2. Use basic hand tools to complete installations and minor adjustments.
  3. Coordinate and schedule customer installations.
  4. Keep installation tools, supplies, and materials organized and ready for use.
  5. Work directly with customers while providing friendly, professional service.
  6. Assist the Sales team with customer demonstrations, field workshops, and product education.
  7. Transport and set up equipment for demonstrations at customer locations.
  8. Assist with hard floor coatings and floor refinishing projects.
  9. Learn about commercial cleaning equipment and how to evaluate equipment condition and customer needs.
  10. Support warehouse and Sales operations as needed.

What We're Looking For
You don't need a traditional sales background to be successful in this role.
We're looking for someone who is hands-on, dependable, comfortable with customers, and interested in learning more about sales.
  1. Comfortable using basic hand tools and completing installations.
  2. Mechanically inclined with the ability to learn how products and equipment work.
  3. Strong customer service and communication skills.
  4. Comfortable working directly with customers in different environments.
  5. Organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  6. Valid driver's license and a strong driving record.
  7. Comfortable driving with a trailer.
  8. Able to work independently while also supporting a team.
  9. Interested in learning products, equipment, customer needs, and the sales process.

Experience in installation, maintenance, facilities, construction, equipment service, route service, warehouse operations, or another hands-on customer-facing position could be a great fit.
Previous sales experience is not required.
Why This Opportunity Stands Out
  1. Build a path into sales without needing previous sales experience.
  2. Learn the business while working alongside experienced sales professionals.
  3. Develop valuable customer relationship and sales skills.
  4. Work with your hands instead of sitting behind a desk all day.
  5. Visit different customer locations and enjoy variety in your workday.
  6. Learn about products, equipment, facility solutions, and customer needs.
  7. Gain hands-on experience that can help prepare you for future opportunities within Hillyard.
  8. Join a stable, family-owned company with more than 100 years of success.

Why Hillyard?
Since 1907, Hillyard has helped businesses create clean, safe, and healthy environments through innovative products, equipment, and exceptional customer service.
We believe some of the best sales professionals start by learning the products, understanding the customers, and seeing firsthand how our solutions work.
This position gives you the opportunity to do exactly that.
You'll work alongside our Sales team, build relationships with customers, develop your product knowledge, and gain experience that can help you take the next step in your career.
What's in It for You?
  1. Monday-Friday day shift schedule
  2. $22-$24 an hour and bonus program
  3. Paid holidays
  4. Paid time off
  5. Industry-leading 401(k) and profit-sharing program
  6. Medical, dental, and vision benefits
  7. Hands-on training and development
  8. Opportunity to learn the sales side of the business
  9. Long-term career growth with a stable, family-owned company
