The schedule is expected to be a part-time, variable shift.ย 

Bargaining Unit: EAP

Rate of Pay: $71.88/hour + DOE (Base Pay of $68.46/hour include 5% temporary differential)

Summary

Functions independently in performing nursing process, various direct patient care activities and related clerical and non-technical duties necessary in caring for the needs and comforts of patient; assists in the maintenance of a safe environment; functions as a cooperative, active member of the Health Care Team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collects and documents data about patients seen on the unit.
  • Interprets assessment data to prioritize treatment needs.
  • Implements and evaluates individual plan of care.
  • Prioritizes and assesses patient acuity and treatment modalities.
  • Communicates discharge instructions and teaching.
  • Possesses effective communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Utilizes equipment properly.
  • Participates in departmental growth and development.
  • Pursues professional growth.
  • Follows patient care standards.
  • Ability to work standby.
  • May cover Medical Surgery Unit.
  • May be the only Emergency Nurse on the unit
  • Demonstrates System Values in performance and behavior.
  • Complies with System policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

Associates Degree -ย ย Graduation from a National League of Nursing (NLN), Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or equivalent accredited school of nursing. The nurse shall have completed a nursing education program that included clinical experiences with actual patients under the supervision of qualified faculty.

  • Employees hired into the department after September 1, 2012 must have California and Nevada RN licenses.
  • If hired as a temporary or seasonal RN, must have current RN license in either CA or NV based on work assignment.
  • Current employees as of January 1, 2023 must obtain their CA RN license no later than June 1, 2023.

Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support - Upon Hire

Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers - Upon Hire

Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS): Employees that have never been certified must take a live initial AHA certification class. Employees with recently expired certifications will be enrolled in Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI). Certification must be completed within specified time frame. - Upon Hire

BLS/ACLS/PALS: Employee will be enrolled in the Resuscitation Quality Improvement (RQI) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Life Supportย (ALS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Entry or Prep Curriculum (depending on their previous BLS, ACLS, and/or PALS certification). - Within 3 months of hire into job
