What You'll Do
As an Outpatient Registered Nurse, you will provide comprehensive nursing care while supporting providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure outstanding patient outcomes.
Schedule
  • 13-week contract
  • 1 full-time day, 1 full-time night
  • 2 (8) hour shifts, (2) 12-hour shifts
  • Includes weekends and holidays as needed
Key Responsibilities include:
  • Deliver direct nursing care in an outpatient clinical setting.
  • Perform patient assessments and accurately document findings in the electronic medical record.
  • Assist providers with examinations, treatments, procedures, and patient education.
  • Coordinate patient care plans and communicate treatment recommendations.
  • Triage patient concerns and determine appropriate follow-up care.
  • Monitor patient conditions and promptly report significant changes.
  • Support chronic disease management and preventive healthcare initiatives.
  • Coordinate referrals, specialty consultations, and follow-up appointments.
  • Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
  • Maintain accurate clinical documentation in NIH electronic systems.
  • Ensure compliance with infection prevention, patient safety, and quality standards.
  • Follow all NIH policies, procedures, and privacy requirements.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN), Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN), or Nursing Diploma from an accredited nursing program.
  • Successful completion of the NCLEX.
  • Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in any U.S. state, territory, or commonwealth.
  • Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
  • Minimum of 2 years of recent acute care experience in a Medical-Surgical setting.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and clinical decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic medical records.
  • Ability to successfully complete the AMI credentialing process.
