Job Title: In Home Therapy Clinician | Bilingual English to Spanish or Portuguese

Job Summary:

In-Home Therapy is structured, consistent, strength-based therapeutic relationships between a licensed clinician and the youth and family for the purpose of treating the youth's behavioral health needs, including improving the family's ability to provide effective support for the youth to promote his/her healthy functioning within the family. She/he is accountable to the Supervising Licensed, Master Level Clinician. The Master's level clinician maintains a caseload of 5-8 families, and will liaises with Outpatient Clinician, Care Coordinator and the Family Partners and other team members to achieve program objectives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Comprehensive home-based assessment, behavioral health assessment inclusive of the age appropriate version of the Massachusetts CANS that occurs in the youth's home or another location of the family's choice.
  • Development of a youth and family centered treatment plan in collaboration with the youth, parent/caregiver(s), and with required consents, in consultation with other providers.
  • Review and modification of treatment plan as necessary.
  • Provides or arranges for transportation for his/her clients to appointments, crisis/respite services, etc. if needed. Driver's license and auto insurance with adequate coverage must be kept up to date.
  • Review/development of a risk management/safety plan in collaboration with the youth and parent/caregiver.
  • Provides intensive family therapy that may include working with the entire family, or a subset of the family, to implement focused, structural, strategic, or behavioral techniques, or evidenced-based interventions to enhance problem solving, limit setting, risk management/safety planning, communication, skill building to strengthen the family, and to advance therapeutic goals or improve ineffective patterns of interactions.
  • Identification of community resources and development of natural supports for youth and parent/caregiver(s) to support and sustain achievement of the yout's treatment plan goals and objectives.
  • Provides or secures support and crisis/emergency services for the youth/family. This may be done through face-to-face contact, phone contact or by beeper or an on call system. All time spent on crisis assessment and planning, crisis linkage and follow-up, and stabilization must be billed as crisis hours.
  • Collaborates with other necessary individuals the youth and family may have contact with, such as Bureau Case Managers, Probation Officers, Judges, District Attorneys, Attorneys, Teachers, Physicians, etc. Will contact these key people by telephone frequently, invite them to Care Planning Team and ICP meetings, and provide them with copies of the ICP.
  • Master level clinicians must inform the Agency of all emergencies or critical incidents.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • The Master Level Clinician must possess a master's degree in a human service field (including but not restricted to counseling, family therapy, social work, psychology, etc.) from an accredited college/university.
  • The Master Level Clinician must possess demented training in family therapy as well as training and working experience with youth and families.
  • Experience navigating any of the child/family-serving systems and advocating for family members who are involved in the behavioral health system
  • Demonstrated ability to be innovative, creative, analytical and decisive in problem solving.
  • Demonstrated communications, administrative and organizational capabilities.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse populations and community agencies: School Dept., DYS, Juvenile Court, etc.
  • Understanding/willingness to be part of a Program that supports youth and families 24 hours per day, 365 days a year.
  • Must have a driver's license and availability of vehicle to support Program needs.
