In Clinical Engineering our mission is to provide a team of empowered professionals providing continued improvement in patient care and equipment planning & support technologies. BJC Healthcares' Clinical Engineering (Clinical Asset Management) team provides operational support and maintenance management of diagnostic, treatment, and patient support technologies. Specific service areas include, Medical equipment planned maintenance services, Medical equipment demand and corrective maintenance services, Operational support for functions employing medical technology, Support of Risk Management and EH&S functions, Technology asset management support, acquisition and disposal, Technology maintenance contract management, Technology capital project planning and management.
Preferred Qualifications
Role Purpose
Biomedical Technician performs performance assurance inspections, installation, testing, calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of medical instrumentation, device and systems.
Responsibilities
  • Schedules and performs preventive maintenance, performance assurance testing, electrical safety inspections, and schedules repairs to correct failedequipment.
  • Repairs and calibrates equipment and devices to bring them up to the original manufacturers' specifications.
  • Conducts analyses to identify symptoms, definition of problems, option comparisons, appropriate solutions, implementation, and evaluation of results, troubleshooting if necessary.
  • Provides in-service education and customer service to staff on equipment operation and safety.
