As a(n) Software Engineer within PNC's Site Reliability Technology Engineering organization, you will be based in Pittsburgh, PA.
As a Software Engineer at PNC, you will support monitoring and reliability of PNC's enterprise technology platforms. This entry-level role provides hands-on experience with system operations and observability tools within a production environment.
Responsibilities
• Monitor system health, performance, and availability using monitoring and observability tools (logs, metrics, dashboards)
• Respond to alerts and perform basic troubleshooting of infrastructure, applications, and servers
• Support incident management, escalation, and root cause identification
• Execute routine operational tasks, system checks, and production support activities
• Document incidents, resolutions, and operational procedures (runbooks)
• Collaborate with Engineering and SRC teams to improve system reliability
Qualifications
• Basic knowledge of Linux and/or Windows Server administration
• Foundational troubleshooting skills (logs, system performance)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to learn quickly in production operations / support environment
Preferred
