Job description

TITLE: Packer - First Shift

LOCATION: Onsite in Avon, OH
SHIFT & HOURS: Monday thru Friday, 7am- 3:30am EDT(Saturday overtime as needed)

Hiring Hourly Rate: $17.80/hr.

Custom Culinary, a subsidiary ofGriffith Foods,is hiring aPackerto join our Production Team. The Packer is responsible for the safe operation of the set-up, operation, adjustment, and clean-upof packaging equipment toensure product is packed, labeled & palletizedin accordance with company quality, safety, and regulatory standards Good Manufacturing Practice(GMP),Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Point(HACCP),andGriffith Production System(GPS).

As a Packeryour responsibilities will include:

  • Read and interpret production schedules to pack finished goods accurately, ensuring correct cartons and labels are used

  • Assemble cartons, apply labels, and pack the correct number of products into each carton

  • Set up,operate, andmaintainpackaging equipment such as tapers and code daters

  • Stack cartons on pallets according to required configurations

  • Accurately record production and yield data

  • Cleaning and sanitizing the production equipment and tools, includingthe workarea.

  • Disposal of trash and garbage containers.

  • Support audit requirements andmaintaina clean, safe work environment

Qualified candidates will have:

  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or carry up to60pounds throughout the shift andoperatean electric pallet jack.

  • Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently, including the ability to read andcomprehendinstructions, short correspondence, and memos; ability to write simple correspondence; and the ability to communicate with individuals and small groups.

  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

  • Working knowledge or the ability to gain knowledge of Enterprise Resource Planning.

  • Willingness & ability to work overtime, as needed, throughout the week, up to and including Saturday work.

  • Ability to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crouch for extended periods during the shift.

  • Comfortable working with and around allergens and cleaning chemicals.

  • Must be able to workonsiteinAvon, OHlocation

Candidates must currently be at least 18 years of age ANDpossessunrestricted authorization to work in the United States. Work visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee isfrequentlyrequired to sit,stand,and walk to communicate and listen effectively. This will require both office and plant floor environments. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 60 pounds. The employee will occasionally need tooperateand drive a forklift or electronic pallet jack to transport materials or goods.
