This is an excellent opportunity, new graduates and experienced Physical Therapists are encouraged to apply. Salary range is competitive based on experience/certifications. Range is 65K-85K.

Job Summary

The Physical Therapist is responsible for developing and administering a physical therapy program that meets the patient's goals and needs by assessing and interpreting evaluations.

Job Duties
  • Analyzes risk, problem solves effectively and demonstrates a high level of professional judgment when recommending and providing services, making environmental modifications and training staff to manage physical needs at an appropriate level of supervision.
  • Provides competent physical therapy interventions, including therapeutic exercise, balance coordination and agility training, body mechanics and postural stabilization, flexibility exercises, gait and locomotion training, neuromotor development training, relaxation, strength power and endurance training, functional training in self-care and home management, manual therapy, application and adjustment of assistive devices, application and adjustment of physical agents and electrotherapeutic modalities compliant with federal and state licensing requirements, APTA standards documents (eg, Guide for Conduct for the PTA, Code of Ethics), and facility policies and procedures.
  • Provides direct supervision of physical therapy assistants in accordance with the Guidelines for PT Practice in NYS.
  • Evaluates effects of physical therapy treatments by observing, noting, and evaluating patient's progress; recommending adjustments and modifications.
  • Assure safety of patient and self throughout patient care.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participating in professional societies.
  • Respects and protects the confidentiality of all patient and Company information through the adherence of all HIPAA guidelines and regulations.

Qualifications
  • Education Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree required along with successful completion of a NYS or APTA accredited Physical Therapy program. Certification to practice in NYS as evidenced by current licensure.

  • Experience Requirements
  • Background in sports medicine and/or professional experience in outpatient orthopaedic environment preferred.

  • Skills and Competencies Requirements
  • Skill in selecting and providing a wide range of intervention strategies and monitoring their effectiveness.

    Ability to plan, coordinate and provide training and continuing education both formally and informally to staff and other medical professionals.
