Position: Tenure/Tenure Track Professor of Law
Department: Norman A. Wiggins School of Law
Status: Full Time
Position Summary:
Campbell University School of Law invites applications for up to three full-time, entry-level or lateral, tenured or tenure-track, faculty positions at the rank of Assistant, Associate or full Professor to begin in August 2026. The positions are nine-month academic appointments. Salary and rank will be commensurate with experience.
We are particularly interested in hiring candidates with expertise in the following areas:
1. Civil Procedure
2. Property
3. Evidence
4. Torts and Remedies
Applicants will be reviewed as received until the position is filled.
Education/Experience:
  • Excellent academic credentials with J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school (or equivalent academic degree).
  • At least two years of substantial law practice experience, ideally in the area of our curricular needs.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching and scholarship
  • Exceptional collegiality and cooperative spirit
  • Commitment to supporting all five of the Campbell Law distinctives (Faculty are not required to adhere to any specific religious tradition, but we seek individuals who can respect and contribute to our Christian mission.)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Cooperate with other designated faculty to implement a coordinated curriculum, inclusive of learning objectives
  • Develop and manage course materials from learning objectives and recommendations from Associate Dean and/or Curriculum Committee
  • Administer tests, assignments and other exercises that permit measure of knowledge, abilities and/or performance relative to the course learning objectives
  • Maintain effective and timely communications with students and staff at all times
  • Provide students with individual feedback on assessments
  • Administer exams according to Law School guidelines
  • Complete student record keeping and submit grades in a timely and accurate manner
  • Participate in departmental, faculty and staff meetings as requested
  • Uphold and abide by Campbell University policies and procedures, including but not limited to Title IX, and Information Security, including but not limited to FERPA and other state and federal mandates
  • Other job-related duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work effectively and collegially with faculty, students, and colleagues
  • Demonstrate skill in teaching and mentoring students
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrate tact, a positive attitude, courtesy and discretion in dealing with faculty, staff, students, university officials and outside constituencies
  • Always maintain a professional appearance and demeanor
  • Work independently and function effectively in a team and within a diverse group of people
  • Comprehensive computer skills, with the ability to learn and utilize new and emerging technology
  • Knowledge regarding the usage of Blackboard and web- based applications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and common methods of digital communication such as web conferencing, web/text chat
  • Familiarity using/administering social media platforms
  • Exercise independent judgment in complex, new, and/or stressful situations
  • Manage multiple, concurrent projects, and meet set deadlines
  • Adaptability, flexibility and a willingness to work in a changing environment
