Summary: ForTheVeteran (FTV) seeks a hardworking, self-motivated professional who is passionate about making a difference in the lives of disabled veterans to join our team as a Recruiter. As a Recruiter, you will work closely with hiring managers and leadership to support FTV’s growth by identifying, engaging, and hiring top talent. A typical day as a Recruiter includes sourcing and screening candidates, conducting pre-scheduled phone interviews, coordinating interviews, and guiding candidates through the hiring process. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building relationships, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to play a meaningful role in expanding a mission-driven organization that serves veterans.



Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, role requirements, and hiring timelines 
  • Source candidates through job boards, referrals, social media, career fairs, and other recruiting channels 
  • Review resumes and conduct initial phone screens to assess qualifications, skills, and cultural fit 
  • Schedule and coordinate interviews with candidates and internal stakeholders 
  • Maintain consistent communication with candidates throughout the hiring process to ensure a positive candidate experience 
  • Track candidate progress and maintain accurate records in the applicant tracking system (ATS) 
  • Assist with extending offers and supporting pre-employment steps in coordination with HR 
  • Ensure recruiting practices align with company policies, employment laws, and compliance requirements 
  • Represent FTV’s mission and values to prospective employees through employer branding and outreach efforts 
  • Attend career fairs, job fairs, and community engagement events to build talent pipelines and strengthen community relationships 
  • Provide regular recruiting updates and hiring metrics to leadership as requested 

Requirements

Qualifications: High school diploma/GED required.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred 
  • 1–3 years of recruiting, talent acquisition, HR, or related experience
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport quickly 
  • Experience conducting phone screens and coordinating interviews 
  • Ability to manage multiple open requisitions and priorities in a fast-paced environment 
  • Proficiency with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office) 
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and follow-through 
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams 
  • Willingness and ability to attend career fairs, job fairs, and community engagement events as needed
