Job description

Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD) is seeking a Development Specialist to join our team. While this is a remote, work-from-home role, candidates must reside in Fort Myers (Florida) in order to build relationships and attend local events.

This is an entry-level opportunity designed for someone eager to grow in fundraising and nonprofit development. Weโ€™re looking for a motivated self-starter with strong communication and organizational skills, and at least some experience or knowledge in fundraising, event planning, or donor relations. The right candidate will be mentored and supported to expand their skills while making a real difference in their community.

This is a remote, work from home position, in which the selected candidate must reside in Charlotte, Collier, or Lee County. The Salary for this position is $50,000.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support fundraising efforts to achieve revenue goals for your local area.
  • Help plan and execute fundraising events: event logistics, donor cultivation activities, and community outreach efforts in partnership with the Development Director.
  • Promote MADDโ€™s events and awareness campaigns through media channels, social media, community partnerships, and outreach events.
  • Build relationships with local businesses, corporate sponsors, foundations, and donors.
  • Conduct prospect research to identify major donors and funding opportunities aligned with MADD's priorities.
  • Represent MADD at community meetings, networking events, and speaking engagements.
  • Must be present and attend all MADD related events, as well as be available some nights and weekends for community tabling event opportunities.
  • Actively participate in local community organizations to expand visibility and connections.
  • Track fundraising activities and sponsorship engagement using Salesforce, or other trackers as assigned.
  • Assist in creating content for social media and event outreach emails.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Preferred bachelorโ€™s degree in marketing, Communications, Public Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Some experience or exposure to fundraising, event coordination, donor relations, or communications.
  • Strong networking and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Highly organized with attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Self-starter who is eager to learn and grow in nonprofit development.
