Key Responsibilities
  • Provide immediate crisis intervention and support during mental health emergencies for children and adolescents, ensuring safety and stability.
  • Educate patients and their families about mental health conditions, available treatment options, and community resources that can aid recovery.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and ensure confidentiality, adhering to legal and ethical standards in documentation.
  • Actively engage in team meetings and case consultations to discuss patient progress and treatment strategies.
  • Stay informed about current research and advancements in child and adolescent psychiatry, integrating new knowledge into practice.
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments that evaluate the psychological needs and challenges of your young patients.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that respect developmental stages and family dynamics.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to address the mental health concerns of each patient.
  • Facilitate family therapy sessions, helping parents and caregivers in fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for their children.
  • Collaborate efficiently with child psychiatrists and other healthcare providers to coordinate care and achieve holistic treatment outcomes.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of your work will be on children and adolescents dealing with a variety of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, behavioral issues, and ADHD. You'll have the privilege of guiding these young individuals toward better mental health, significantly impacting their overall well-being and development.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related fields, along with requisite licensure as an LCSW, LMFT, or LPCC in California.
  • Demonstrated experience in providing individual and family therapy to young clients.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, paired with a compassionate, child-centered approach to therapy.
  • Ability to build rapport and establish trust with children, adolescents, and their families.
  • Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and general computer applications relevant to telehealth.
  • Capacity to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care.
  • A strong background in the knowledge of child and adolescent mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment modalities.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience in evidence-based practices specifically tailored for children and adolescents.
  • Familiarity with diverse therapeutic modalities, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), play therapy, and family systems therapy.
  • Track record of active engagement in professional development, training, or continued education in your field.
