Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will hold key responsibilities that focus on the diagnosis and treatment of children and adolescents:

• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions tailored to each young individual’s needs, addressing various mental health conditions.
• Facilitate family therapy sessions, educating and guiding parents and caregivers to foster supportive and nurturing environments.
• Collaborate with child psychiatrists and a multidisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care plans.
• Deliver crisis intervention and immediate support during mental health emergencies involving children and adolescents.
• Educate children and their families on mental health challenges, treatment paths, and available community resources.
• Ensure meticulous documentation of patient interactions and treatment plans in compliance with legal and ethical standards, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Actively engage in team meetings and case consultations to contribute insights and stay updated on best practices.
• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to accurately gauge the needs and developmental status of youth clients.
• Design and implement individualized treatment plans that are responsive to the developmental stages and specific family dynamics of each child.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess the following qualifications:

• A current licensed status (LCSW, LPC, LCPC, LMHC, or LMFT) in the state of California. Note that candidates with only an associate license cannot be accommodated.
• Strong foundational knowledge of childhood and adolescent mental health disorders, effective treatment modalities, and therapeutic approaches.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering both individual and family therapy to young clients.
• Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate outlook towards children and families.
• A proven ability to build rapport and trust with diverse client groups, ensuring a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.
• Familiarity with EHR systems and proficiency in computer applications related to mental health documentation.
• A team-oriented mindset and the capacity to collaborate effectively with other professionals.
• A Master’s degree in counseling, clinical psychology, social work, or a closely related field.

Preferred Experience
