Job description

Job Summary:
The Structural Technician takes specific job-related information and converts it into the format of drawings per the established design and drafting standards.
The Structural Technician should have a working knowledge of the structural systems they are depicting and should strive to understand the relationship between building components. They should assist the Structural Engineer or Designer they are working with in exposing relational discrepancies in both plans and details.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
โ€ข Drawing production, building modeling, and applying established production standards to assignments
โ€ข Extract relevant information from the model/plans of other disciplines and implement structural requirements associated with that information
โ€ข Field surveys
โ€ข Review shop drawings, as directed
โ€ข Develop working knowledge of analysis and plan production software (Revit/AutoCAD)
โ€ข Assist with engineering administrative activities
โ€ข Support miscellaneous projects and general administrative tasks

This position will primarily support our Chicago office, and working in the Chicago office is preferred. We are open to candidates in the Milwaukee or Madison areas as well. All of our offices work on a hybrid schedule, with 4 days in office and 1 day remote.
The salary range for this position is $52,000-$100,000 annually. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location.
