• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations to determine clients' mental health needs, utilizing diagnostic tools to inform treatment plans.
• Provide individualized one-on-one counseling sessions, actively employing evidence-based therapeutic techniques to help clients cope with issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and addiction.
• Facilitate engaging group therapy sessions or support groups that foster an environment of healing and shared understanding among participants.
• Create and implement tailored treatment plans with measurable goals, continually assessing progress and making adjustments as needed to optimize client outcomes.
• Address crisis situations with immediate intervention, conducting risk assessments and coordinating emergency support to ensure client safety.
• Stay informed about advancements in mental health practices by engaging in ongoing professional development and attending training sessions.
• Work collaboratively with other mental health professionals, including psychiatrists and social workers, to deliver comprehensive, multidisciplinary care.

In this role, you will primarily work with a diverse clientele facing various mental health challenges, including adults experiencing mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma histories, and substance use issues. Our client-centered approach emphasizes empathy and understanding, which are central to building rapport and trust with individuals seeking support.

• A master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
• Active licensure as a mental health counselor within the state of New York, in compliance with state guidelines.
• Completion of a minimum of three years of supervised clinical experience as required by state regulations.
• Commitment to ongoing professional education to maintain licensure and improve clinical skills.
