Job Summary

The University Relations & Recruiting Associate is responsible for developing and executing university recruiting strategies to attract early-career talent. This role manages full-cycle recruiting for internship and entry-level positions, builds strong partnerships with universities and hiring managers, coordinates campus recruiting initiatives, and delivers an exceptional candidate experience. The ideal candidate is an organized, relationship-focused professional who is passionate about early-career recruiting and talent acquisition.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for internship and early-career positions, from sourcing through offer.
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with universities, career services, faculty, and student organizations.
  • Develop and execute campus recruiting strategies to build sustainable early-career talent pipelines.
  • Plan and participate in campus recruiting events, career fairs, networking opportunities, and student engagement activities.
  • Maintain ongoing relationships with prospective candidates throughout the academic year.
  • Screen, interview, evaluate, and present qualified candidates to hiring managers.
  • Partner with hiring managers to define hiring needs, candidate profiles, and recruiting strategies.
  • Provide guidance on university recruiting trends and early-career talent market conditions.
  • Promote the organization's culture and employment brand during recruiting activities.

Job Requirements

  • Experience in talent acquisition, university relations, campus recruiting, internship recruiting, human resources, or a related field preferred.
  • Full-cycle recruiting experience preferred.
  • Experience supporting university recruiting, early-career hiring, or internship programs preferred.
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint required.
  • Experience using Workday, Eightfold, or a similar applicant tracking system preferred.
  • Corporate recruiting experience preferred.
  • Strong behavioral interviewing and candidate assessment skills.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with hiring managers, university partners, and candidates.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to analyze recruiting metrics and use data to support recruiting strategies.
  • U.S. citizenship required.
  • Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
  • Ability to travel up to 25% as required.
  • Candidates must reside within a reasonable commuting distance of San Diego, California.
  • Ability to work a hybrid schedule.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required, or High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of four years of relevant talent acquisition, university relations, or recruiting experience.
