• Actively accompany law enforcement personnel on mental health response calls, assisting them to effectively manage situations involving individuals in crisis.
• Provide training to police officers about mental health best practices, helping to reduce the use of force and promote a compassionate approach to law enforcement.
• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations in the field to assess the need for involuntary detention under California's 5150/5585 codes for individuals exhibiting serious mental health episodes.
• Deliver short-term crisis counseling that addresses immediate mental health needs for non-violent individuals, facilitating productive pathways to more extensive care.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records of patient interactions and treatment plans to ensure compliance with all regulatory standards.
• Engage in effective communication with law enforcement agencies, Crisis Stabilization Units (CSUs), hospital staff, and psychiatrists to coordinate and facilitate patient care.

The ideal candidate will work primarily with arrestees facing mental health crises as well as community members who require urgent support. • A Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work, or related fields.
• Current license as a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC) in the state of California.

• Basic Life Support (BLS) or Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification is required.
