In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in enhancing the quality of life for a diverse patient population by providing comprehensive mental health support and counseling. Our ideal candidate is someone who thrives on making meaningful connections and is committed to fostering positive changes in the lives of individuals facing mental health challenges.

About the Organization

Our community health clinic draws a wide array of patients, providing a dynamic and enriching environment. We pride ourselves on our interdisciplinary approach, emphasizing collaboration among our medical team to ensure comprehensive care that addresses both physical and mental health needs. We believe that a diverse team enriches the quality of service we provide, and we welcome applicants with varied backgrounds and experiences.

Work Environment

This role offers the flexibility of a remote setting, empowering you to manage your work-life balance while focusing on patient care. Our virtual operations enable counselors to deliver essential services while being supported by a robust, collaborative medical team. We utilize modern telehealth technology to enhance communication and treatment delivery, ensuring all team members are integrated and informed.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate closely with the Medical Director and Medical Team Administrator to coordinate the delivery of mental health care both within our facility and in the broader community.
  • Conduct mental health training sessions for medical, psychiatric, and security staff as requested, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of mental health issues across all levels of care.
  • Intervene in and de-escalate mental health crises as they arise, employing effective communication and therapeutic techniques to stabilize patients.
  • Represent the facility at commitment hearings when required, ensuring legal and ethical standards are met while advocating for patient needs.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on comprehensive assessments, setting realistic and attainable goals for each patient.
  • Document all interactions with patients meticulously, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in medical records.
  • Verify patient mental health histories, including documented use of psychotropic medications, to inform treatment processes.
  • Create and submit regular reports detailing patient progress and clinical findings to contribute to facility-wide understanding and improvement of care.
  • Coordinate with nursing and allied mental health staff to facilitate post-release referrals, ensuring continuity of care for patients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

At Grateful Guidance, we serve a varied and complex patient population dealing with an array of challenges, including substance misuse, trauma, and ongoing mental health diagnoses. Our counselors play a critical role in guiding clients through their recovery journeys by offering support tailored to their unique needs, leveraging evidence-based practices.

Qualifications
  • Must possess a Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health field.
  • Active and unrestricted licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia is required.
  • A minimum of two years of counseling experience in a clinical setting is necessary to effectively meet patient needs.
Preferred Experience
  • Specialization in areas such as family therapy, couples therapy, substance misuse treatment, or trauma-informed care is highly desirable and would enhance our service offerings.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 70,000 to 100,000 annually, with additional bonuses based on performance and milestones achieved. Benefits include access to dental, vision, and health insurance to ensure your well-being along with the opportunity to obtain malpractice insurance. Furthermore, our supportive environment facilitates numerous client referrals, allowing you to build your practice without the administrative burden of billing and documentation.

At Grateful Guidance, we are committed to the professional development of our team members. We provide opportunities for continuing education, advanced training in specialized areas of interest, and pathways to leadership roles within the organization. As you grow in your skills and experience, you will have the chance to take on new challenges and expand your impact within the community.
