Adjuncts are hired on a course basis each term.
Salary Range for Adjuncts teaching in this academic area is $500.00 - $3,750.00 per course.
Governors State University's College of Arts and Sciencesseeks to create an available pool of local (Chicagoland area) AdjunctFacultycandidates to teach undergraduate courses in Interdisciplinary Studies (IDSS). This teaching opportunity is for the Division of Arts & Letters and housed through our University Center of Lake County location.
Essential Responsibilities
We are particularly interested in adjunct faculty to teach IDSS courses in the following areas: Academic Writing; Career Planning; Interdisciplinary Theories.
Interested individuals are invited to complete a faculty profile, attach a curriculum vita, cover letter, transcripts and list of references for consideration. If available, please also include a sample syllabus or a current or recently taught course.
At Governors State University, adjunct faculty are hired as temporary faculty with teaching responsibilities for a specific course in a semester or summer session. Adjuncts are not a part of the faculty bargaining unit and are not included in membership of the Faculty Senate.
Required and Preferred Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
* A Master's degree in Interdisciplinary Studies or a related discipline.
* Experience teaching undergraduate classes at an accredited college or university.
Preferred Qualifications:
* A doctoral degree in interdisciplinary studies, education, the humanities, social sciences, or a multi-disciplinary field such as Black & Africana Studies or Gender & Sexuality Studies.
* Experience teaching online at an accredited college or university.
* Experience teaching academic writing.
* Experience teaching career planning.
