Job description

Symetra has an exciting opportunity to join our team as an Actuarial Associate I!
About the role
The Production Associate contributes to Symetra Bermuda Servicing Company's ("SBSC's" or "the company's") in force modeling processes and procedures. Reporting to the Production Lead, this person will create SBSC model outputs for a wide range of regulatory reporting. This person will contribute to the success of the company's modeling initiatives through developing expertise on the model and regulatory requirements, modernization of the reporting tools utilized, and improvement initiatives for the overall reporting processes.
What you will do
  • Quarterly and annual regulatory reporting, including but not limited to:
    • Quarterly model bridging runs
    • Final reported BEL
    • BEL waterfall runs
    • Quarterly BEL sensitivities and stresses
    • Annual CISSA stresses
    • Annual Schedule V(e) stresses
  • Annual plan, plan updates, and sensitivities
  • Annual ORSA stresses
  • Annual unlocking runs and sensitivities
  • Develop and maintain process documentation
  • Implementing improvements to reporting and to the modeling processes

Compensation
Hourly Range: $72,700 - $121,100 plus eligibility for annual bonus programs
Who you are
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, finance, mathematics, or related technical field required.
  • Proficient in PC utilization including spreadsheets and data management software.
  • Demonstrated analytical abilities, problem solving, and analysis.
  • Committed to self-development and learning actuarial concepts.
  • Experience with common coding and visual software, such as Python, SQL, Power BI, and Power Query.
  • Experience with modeling software, with emphasis on MG-ALFA / MG-Integrate modeling.
  • Experience with AI coding tools a plus.
  • Effective communication with manager required.
  • Actuarial Student track with at least one exam passed. Prior to attaining actuarial designations.
  • Entry-level or up to 3 years of insurance related actuarial experience.
  • High school diploma required.
