Located at the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) Savannah River Site (SRS) in Aiken SC, the laboratory develops and deploys innovative technologies to address some of the nation's environmental, energy, and national security challenges.

The Global Security Directorate (GSD) of SRNL provides a team focused on staff development and infrastructure upgrades for nuclear reprocessing science and technology programs at SRNL. GSD is growing its support of its critical NNSA nonproliferation portfolios and is building its teams to support these enduring programs. Minimum Qualifications:

  • BS + 0-3 yrs of relevant experience or an MS + 0-2 yrs or a PhD + 0-1 yrs.
  • For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Active DOE Clearance
  • The selected candidates will work with engineers, scientists, researchers, technical specialists, and other professionals within SRNL to design, test, evaluate and deploy a wide range of custom developed and industry standard electronic hardware.ย 
  • Perform hands on development of hardware and software through a wide array of embedded system platforms.ย 
  • Complete tasks autonomously or with minimal supervision.
  • Ideal candidates are electrical/electronicย engineers capable of developing, designing, fabricating, assembling, testing, evaluating, calibrating, and fielding unique systems, components, and tooling to meet unique technical challenges for end users.ย 
  • They are expected to deliver results in a safe, responsible, secure, timely, and cost-effective manner.ย 
  • Candidates need to understand and apply advanced knowledge of standard theories, concepts, principles, techniques, and fundamentals in engineering to achieve innovative solutions.ย 
  • Candidates should also be able to scope, plan, organize, communicate, estimate, schedule, and perform technical tasks that that provide creative technical solutions and address a variety of challenges with guidance, support, and direction from senior professionals
