Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) ย is seeking to hire an Electronics Engineer. Selected Candidate will design, develop, fabricate, assemble, test, and deploy a wide range of electronic systems in and other innovative solutions for the Savannah River Site, DOE complex, and National Security missions.ย  The selected candidate will be employed at the Savannah River National Laboratory, in Asymmetric Technologies', Cyber Physical Systems team.

The Global Security Directorate (GSD) of SRNL provides a team focused on staff development and infrastructure upgrades for nuclear reprocessing science and technology programs at SRNL. Minimum Qualifications:ย 

  • Bachelor's Degree in electrical or computer engineering.ย 
  • For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legallyย Required
  • Circuit Design and Simulation Experience
    • Microcontroller Experience
      • STM32/ARM Cortex Preferred
  • Programming experience
    • C,C++ or Assembly Preferred

Preferred Qualifications:ย 

  • Printed Circuit Board (PCB) design experience
    • Altium or Kicad Preferred
  • PCB Assembly and Soldering experience (through hole and surface mount)
  • FPGA Programming Experience
    • Vivado or Keil Preferred
  • Machine Learning Model Development
    • Pytorch Preferred
  • Operational Technology (OT) Experience
    • Programable Logic Controllers (PLCs)
    • OT Networking and communication protocols
  • Understanding of basic cyber security principles
  • RF System Experience

The selected candidate will work with engineers, scientists, researchers, technical specialists, and other professionals both within and external to Savannah River National Laboratory. The selected candidate will build and strengthen relationships with laboratory employees, government agencies, academic and industry partners, through the completion of high-quality work. Ideal candidates are entry level engineers capable of designing, developing, fabricating, assembling, testing, and deploying a wide range of electronic systems such as embedded systems, RF systems and operational technology networks. Candidate is expected to deliver results in a safe, responsible, secure, timely, and cost-effective manner. Candidates need to understand and apply advanced knowledge of standard theories, concepts, principles, techniques, and fundamentals in engineering to achieve innovative solutions. Candidates should also be able to scope, plan, organize, communicate, estimate, schedule, and perform technical tasks that provide creative technical solutions and address a variety of challenges with guidance, support, and direction from senior professionals. The candidate must be able to perform non-routine travel (approximately 10-15%) to complete professional development, and occasional short term remote field work and assignments.
