Ready to make a difference?

At ICF, our marketing and communications professionals help connect audiences with ideas, programs, and solutions that make a meaningful impact. We are seeking a curious, collaborative, and motivated intern to support marketing and communications initiatives across the organization.

Depending on business needs and the selected candidate's interests and experience, the internship may align with a corporate function, specific business area or client portfolio, or specialized skill set. Focus areas may include corporate or internal communications, integrated marketing, content development, digital marketing, paid media, campaign operations, social media, events, market research, or marketing analytics.

In this role, you will gain hands-on experience supporting projects from planning and research through execution, measurement, and reporting. Although responsibilities, subject matter, audiences, and tools will vary by placement, each assignment will provide opportunities to develop transferable marketing and communications skills while collaborating with cross-functional partners.

This is an entry-level, 10-week, full time internship that begins in early June and ends in early August. At this time, we are unable to provide relocation assistance for internships at this time.

What You Will Be Doing

Responsibilities will vary based on the internship assignment and may include:

  • Assist with drafting, editing, coordinating, and publishing marketing and communications materials, such as articles, newsletters, presentations, email campaigns, website content, social media posts, videos, and infographics.

  • Support the planning and execution of integrated campaigns across digital and traditional channels.

  • Coordinate project timelines, creative requests, campaign materials, approvals, and stakeholder communications.

  • Conduct research on audiences, industries, competitors, media opportunities, and emerging marketing trends.

  • Help collect and analyze campaign data, performance metrics, and audience insights to support reporting and recommendations.

  • Assist with digital marketing, social media, paid media, website, or campaign operations activities based on the assignment.

  • Support events, webinars, workshops, and other internal or external engagement activities.

  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and knowledge-sharing opportunities while contributing ideas and fresh perspectives.

  • Collaborate with marketing, communications, creative, media, analytics, operations, and business partners to complete projects and meet deadlines.

Basic Qualifications

  • By start date, a minimum of 15 completed college-level credit hours.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's or graduate degree in marketing, communications, advertising, business, analytics, public relations, or a related field.

  • Demonstrated interest in marketing, communications, media, content, research, analytics, or campaign management.

  • Strong written, verbal, interpersonal, and presentation skills.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills with close attention to detail.

  • Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong analytical, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and contribute effectively within a collaborative team.

  • Curiosity, adaptability, and an interest in learning new tools, industries, audiences, and marketing practices.

  • Proactive, dependable, and service-oriented approach to work.

  • Interest or experience in one or more areas such as content development, corporate communications, social media, digital marketing, paid media, campaign coordination, research, analytics, graphic design, or event support.

  • Familiarity with marketing, design, content management, analytics, or advertising platforms is helpful but not required unless specified for the assignment.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
