What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an Entry Level Reliability Engineer, and why are they important?

To thrive as an Entry Level Reliability Engineer, you need a background in engineering (such as mechanical, electrical, or industrial), strong analytical skills, and a basic understanding of reliability principles and failure analysis. Familiarity with tools like reliability modeling software, root cause analysis methods, and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is commonly expected. Attention to detail, effective communication, and a collaborative mindset are standout soft skills in this role. These competencies are vital for ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives in technical environments.

What types of projects and responsibilities can an Entry Level Reliability Engineer expect during their first year on the job?

As an Entry Level Reliability Engineer, you will typically start by supporting senior engineers in collecting and analyzing equipment performance data, conducting root cause analyses for failures, and assisting with preventive maintenance planning. You may be tasked with monitoring asset health, updating reliability databases, and participating in team meetings to discuss improvement strategies. Over time, you’ll take on more independent projects, such as developing reliability models or leading smaller failure investigations, which helps build your technical expertise and teamwork skills. This collaborative environment offers valuable exposure to different engineering disciplines and sets a strong foundation for career advancement.

What does an Entry Level Reliability Engineer do?

An Entry Level Reliability Engineer helps ensure that products, systems, or processes operate reliably and meet quality standards. They assist in analyzing failure data, identifying root causes of issues, and working with senior engineers to improve designs or maintenance procedures. Their tasks often include running tests, collecting data, and maintaining documentation. Entry level roles focus on learning industry standards and supporting projects that enhance reliability and performance.

Is SRE higher than DevOps?

Reliability Engineers (SREs) and DevOps engineers have overlapping roles focused on system reliability and automation, but SREs typically have a more specialized focus on service reliability, monitoring, and incident response, often working with tools like Prometheus and Kubernetes. DevOps engineers generally focus on continuous integration, deployment, and infrastructure automation. The hierarchy depends on the organization, but SREs are often seen as a more senior or specialized role within reliability and operations teams.

What are the 4 pillars of SRE?

The four pillars of Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) are availability, latency, performance, and efficiency. These pillars guide SREs, including reliability engineers, in designing and maintaining scalable, reliable systems by focusing on monitoring, automation, and incident response. Mastery of these areas helps ensure system stability and optimal user experience.

Job Title: General Production Worker (Assembler)

Job Description

This role focuses on assembling precision-engineered aftermarket air suspension components in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will follow clear visual work instructions, use hand and power tools, and perform repetitive tasks while standing for extended periods. This is an excellent entry-level opportunity for mechanically inclined individuals who want to build hands-on experience with high-quality engineered products and grow their skills over time.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble air suspension components and related parts according to work orders, diagrams, and visual instructions.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment as required to complete assembly tasks safely and accurately.
  • Inspect parts for quality, proper alignment, seals, and finish to ensure products meet high durability and performance standards.
  • Work from simplified, visual work instructions similar to step-by-step IKEA-style diagrams.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area in accordance with safety and efficiency standards.
  • Stand for 10 or more hours per shift while performing repetitive production and assembly tasks.
  • Perform basic troubleshooting on parts or tools and promptly notify leads of defects, issues, or irregularities.
  • Support production workflow by following established pacing and contributing consistently to team output goals.
  • Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures within the manufacturing environment.
  • Apply labels and stickers to products and prepare finished items for packaging and boxing as needed.
  • Disassemble used products and rebuild them using hand, power, and pneumatic tools in the remanufacturing area when assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Mechanical aptitude or experience in assembly, mechanical work, automotive tasks, or similar hands-on roles.
  • Ability to read and follow basic visual work orders and illustrated step-by-step diagrams.
  • Comfort working with hand tools, power tools, and mechanical equipment.
  • Ability to stand for 10 or more hours per shift while maintaining quality and pace.
  • Comfort working in a manufacturing environment with tools, machinery, and repetitive processes.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow standardized instructions consistently.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality to support production schedules.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a willingness to assist where needed across the production line.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in assembly, production, general labor, or mechanical work is helpful but not required for mechanically inclined entry-level candidates.
  • Basic familiarity with pneumatic tools is beneficial, especially in remanufacturing operations.
  • Interest in learning new production processes and cross-training in areas such as paint, crimping, quality control, or machine operation.
  • Ability to participate in a one-day working interview, typically between 8:00 AM and 3:30 PM.
  • Flexibility to work different shifts and optional additional hours when offered.

Why Work Here?

Employees benefit from a long-term opportunity with clear potential for pay growth as experience increases and skills develop. The organization offers a strong pathway for advancement into leadership roles and specialized departments such as paint, crimping, quality control, or machine operations. Team members work with modern manufacturing processes and precision-engineered products, gaining valuable hands-on experience in a stable and growing industrial environment. The company supports growth-minded individuals who bring a strong work ethic, reliability, and a desire to build a lasting career in manufacturing.

Work Environment

The role is based in non–climate-controlled warehouse facilities, primarily in two buildings dedicated to manufacturing and remanufacturing. In Building B, a newer manufacturing warehouse, employees work at standing workstations assembling products using hand and power tools, applying stickers, and loading finished items into boxes. In Building C, a remanufacturing warehouse, employees disassemble used products and rebuild them using hand, power, and pneumatic tools, with opportunities to grow into the paint department, crimper department, quality control, or machine operator roles. The work is hands-on, repetitive, and requires standing for 10 or more hours per shift in a fast-paced production environment. Available shifts include a first shift, Monday through Thursday from 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM with optional additional hours on Friday, and a second shift, Monday through Thursday from 3:00 PM to 1:00 AM with optional additional hours on Friday from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The dress environment is typical for a manufacturing setting, where employees should be prepared for active, tool-based work in a warehouse atmosphere.
