Position Summary:
The Refrigeration Technician I supports the service, maintenance, and repair of commercial refrigeration systems under the guidance of senior refrigeration technicians and service leadership. This entry-level position is ideal for a technician with foundational refrigeration experience who is looking to expand their technical skills, gain hands-on field experience, and build a long-term career with a reputable mechanical contractor.


This role is based in Montgomery, Alabama, supporting commercial and institutional customers throughout the surrounding service area while maintaining the highest standards of safety, quality, and customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing commercial refrigeration systems, including:

    • Walk-in coolers and freezers

    • Reach-in refrigeration units

    • Ice machines and refrigerated cases

  • Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration equipment in accordance with company and customer standards

  • Support senior technicians during service calls, system inspections, and repairs

  • Identify basic mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration-related issues and escalate complex problems as needed

  • Accurately document service activities, parts used, and job notes using company systems

  • Communicate professionally with customers, dispatch, and service management

  • Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicle in a clean and professional manner

  • Follow all safety policies, OSHA standards, and company procedures at all times

Qualifications & Experience:
  • 1-3 years of commercial refrigeration or HVAC experience preferred

  • Basic understanding of refrigeration cycles, components, and controls

  • EPA Universal Certification (required)

  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record

  • Willingness to learn and work under the direction of experienced technicians

  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in the field

  • Strong customer service and communication skills

  • Ability to read basic wiring diagrams, schematics, and service documentation
