About the role

Balen Real Estate is looking for a highly capable Real Estate Agent to serve as the right hand to the Principal — effectively the second-in-command of the business. This is best suited for someone who has tried commission only and wants the ability to earn commission and have a salary at the same time. You'll be in charge of operations for the company as well participating in showings. You will be anticipating the owner's needs, protecting the calendar, help managing transactions, important clients and making sound decisions on the Principal's behalf.

Minimum 2 years as a real estate salesperson is a must. You already understand sales and rental transactions, how deals actually get done.

We're a fast-growing firm — over the past five years, Balen Real Estate has grown its income five-fold. We are now in the second stage of development where we are expanding. The person in this role will directly contribute to this continued growth and share in its profits. The owner is a 25 year veteran who is the exclusive agent for premier rental and sale buildings throughout Manhattan.

What you'll do

  • Manage the principals calendar, inbox, calls, and daily priorities, and represent the Principal professionally with clients, agents, vendors, and partners
  • Own transaction coordination from contract to close: track deadlines, contingencies, documents, and follow-ups.
  • Keep deals and projects on schedule by anticipating what's next and handling it before it becomes urgent
  • Help Prepare listings, marketing materials, agreements.
  • Serve as the point of contact when the Principal is unavailable, using sound judgment to triage, decide, and escalate appropriately
  • Maintain organized systems, CRM/database records, and files so information is always current and easy to find

Requirements - (Absolute)

  • Active real estate license with minimum 2 years in a real estate role (agent, transaction coordinator, brokerage operations, or similar.
  • Proficient in software technology - Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Adobe, Paint, Claude, CRM. Ability to constantly learn new software.
