A regional gateway to higher education, the five suburban Perimeter College campuses provide more than 30 associate degree pathways. The downtown Atlanta campus offers more than 250 degree programs in 100 fields of study at the undergraduate, graduate and first-professional degree levels.
With five university-wide research centers and numerous centers and institutes at the college and school levels, Georgia State's interdisciplinary, dynamic and productive research enterprises address major health and societal challenges. The primary responsibilities of this position include teaching a full instructional load of Dental Hygiene courses in-person. Courses include Dental Radiology Lab and Clinical Dental Hygiene and other offerings within the discipline.
The position requires maintaining an active campus presence. Successful candidates will demonstrate a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching, student support, and collaborative engagement in an academic environment centered on access and student success.
- Master's degree in dental hygiene or a related field
- One-year college-level teaching experience.
- Local anesthesia certification.
- Dental diode laser training.
- Ability to teach effectively using a variety of methods.
- Ability to create a sense of belonging for a varied student population and facilitate student learning in both the in-person and virtual learning environments.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Excellent communication, organizational and computer skills (able to maintain appropriate records).
- Demonstrated knowledge and use of instructional technology.
- Ability to collaborate with colleagues to achieve discipline, department, or college goals.
The selected candidate will be responsible for:
- Providing at least 32 hours per week of in-person instruction (clinical, didactic, and/or laboratory teaching
- Maintaining a campus presence
- Maintaining weekly office and tutoring hours
- Providing student support and academic coaching
- Working effectively and professionally with students and colleagues
- Participating in program, department, and college faculty meetings
- Letter of application/cover letter Curriculum Vitae/Resume
- Unofficial Transcript of all degrees completed. Official transcripts must be provided if an offer is accepted.
- Foreign Degree Transcript is required for foreign graduate degrees
- Three (3) professional references. Professional references will provide letters of recommendation via a secured and confidential link provided in a notification email.
