Summary
The Clinical Instructor's responsibilities include but are not limited to teaching students, developing and maintaining clinical affiliations, supervising students in the clinical settings and maintaining records of the clinical education component. This position also requires adherence to CHCP's core values, which are the basic elements of how we go about our work.
General Education Responsibilities
The Radiologic Technology Clinical Instructor primary responsibilities to students are imparting knowledge, developing career abilities, and instilling professional attitudes within a creative and enthusiastic learning environment. In addition, faculty have administrative and developmental responsibilities, including advising students to enhance their educational experience. Assist Radiologic Technology students in focusing on the necessary skills for performing radiographic imaging to assist radiologists in diagnosing and treating patients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and maintain clinical affiliations at facilities for clinical and externship.
• Coordinates schedules for clinical rotations, and coordinates student assignments for clinical practicum.
• Collects clinical competency forms and clinical evaluations.
• Complete Site Visit forms on the day of the visit, be detailed in the description.
• Enter student's competency evaluation into Trajecsys.
• Must work hands-on with students during the clinical site visit.
• Complete student clinical site visits every 7 to 10 days for a minimum of 1 hour.
• Approve, Correct, and Audit clinical time daily in Trajecsys.
• Enter clinical time into Citrix/CampusVue.
• Arrange and conduct Face-to-Face Clinical orientation before externship.
• Arrange clinical introduction before the first day of externship.
Revision 2/2025
• Complete the Radiologic Technology Pre-Site Evaluation form for new clinical affiliates before the first day of clinical rotation, in addition, retrieve a copy of the radiology equipment list and a copy of the X-Ray Registration Certificate for the clinical site.
• Assist Clinical Preceptors with the Annual Clinical Preceptor Training, Please be sure to turn in the signature page to the Clinical Coordinator.
• Proctor Exit HESI Exam.
• Proctor RT Entrance Exam (If needed).
• Grade assignments in Canvas (Discussion posts, exam logs, evaluations, dosimetry reports, etc.).
• Respond to students' discussion posts.
• Counsel students who are not performing on a satisfactory level and/or who are not following their clinical schedule.
• Written counseling must be completed within 3 days of the incident.
• Ensures that students meet clinical affiliate requirements for the rotation in a clinical setting.
• Reports academic progress of students and submits final grades to PD/Registrar • Attends mandatory faculty meetings and in-service activities.
• Maintains continuing education and professional growth activity and documentation.
• Keep accurate records in an organized manner.
• Attend Programmatic Meetings.
• Turn in expense report at the end of each month on Concur.
• Assist students with creating an ARRT online account and scheduling the ARRT Radiography registry.
• Assist student with General Medical Radiologic Technologist application and LLAMAS account.
• Mentors and monitors students.
• Assist with student advising.
• Attend and participate in new student orientation and mandatory clinical conferences.
• Assist the students with career development, networking, professionalism and interview skills.
• Ensure compliance with all state, federal, institutional, and programmatic regulations.
• Adheres to academic policies/procedures for compliance.
• Other duties as assigned.
Education & Experience
• Associate Degree required
• America Registry of Radiologic Technologist Certification (ARRT)
• General Medical Radiologic Technologist License (Texas GMRT)
• Currently certified as a Radiologic Technologist
• Minimum of three years' experience as a Radiologic technologist Clinical Instructor
