Job Description:
Penn E&R is seeking a full-time Civil Engineer (entry level) at our Pittsburgh, PA office. You will have the opportunity to perform a wide range of tasks across all of Penn E&R's market sectors and be expected to perform both office-based and field-based assignments.
Qualifications include:
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil/Environmental Engineering or related field
  • Engineer In Training license
  • 0 to 3 years of civil engineering experience
  • EIT a plus
  • Schooling and/or work experience in the following is a plus:
    • Hydrology and hydraulics
    • Erosion and sediment controls
    • Stormwater management controls
    • AutoCAD Civil 3D

You will gain practical work experience including:
  • Preparation of site plans, erosion and sediment control plans, post-construction stormwater management plans, and land development/subdivision plans
  • Hydrology and hydraulic and drainage calculations
  • Erosion and sediment control design
  • Stormwater management calculations
  • Post-Construction Stormwater Management BMP design
  • Infiltration Testing
  • AutoCAD/Civil 3D and standard drafting techniques and applications with experience in the preparation of the following:
    • Creating 3-D surfaces
    • Grading plans
    • Profiles/cross-sections
    • Pipe networks and corridors
  • Working with Project Managers to coordinate with clients and prepare proposals
