Job description

Job Description
This position is responsible for scale-up of new products at the plant and function as the connection between R&D, Commercialization Engineering and plant personnel. This role uses project to implement new equipment and upgrade/maintain existing equipment as well as process engineering principals to improve Scale up efficiency in both quality and lead-time to customer.
Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company's staff, employees, and business relationships.
Responsibilities
• Track metrics for scale-up products (Plant FTR, Customer FTR, OTIF)
• Lead Process Improvements projects for LWR, scale up processes, and quality as needed.
• Support all CapEx projects for R&D equipment from concept to installation and commissioning
• Review CapEx requirement for the Lab and propose upgrades to equipment to improve scale-up and turnaround times for Lab Samples.
• Maintain Critical spare Parts Inventory for all Lab equipment and collaborate with other Labs on Spare Part and Maintenance Strategy.
• Collaborate with site engineers to identify improvement opportunities in existing manufacturing operations to improve scale-up metrics
• Lead Scale-Up Trials for new products and create Trial Reports and Control Plans
• Develop best practices, routines and innovative solutions to improve Scale-Up Metrics with Commercial Engineering
• Review and advise on formula change requests with new products
• Lead Pre and Post Trial reviews for new products
• Responsible for Trial Follow Up Action Items
• Provide process documentation, training, and standard operating procedures for new products
• Responsible for final product Technical review before product is shipped to customer when control lab does not follow
• Run product verification samples on small Lab Equipment (Extrusion/Milling) when needed
• Lead/participate In ARC's for scale up Issues
• Ability to collaborate with other professionals, such as process engineers, chemists and Plant Personnel. Possess strong teamwork skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams, share information, and integrate input from various stakeholders.
• Ability to work with various software systems (Salesforce, Discovery, etc)
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
• BS in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Industrial Engineering)
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have completed formal training in and/or have at least 1 year of work experience applying continuous improvement tools such as Six Sigma, 5-S, Lean Manufacturing, Transactional Lean, etc.
• Must have at least three (3) years of work experience in engineering or product development
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Master of Science or Engineering
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience in a manufacturing facility
• Have at least one (1) year of work experience executing CapEx projects
• Knowledge of powder coating manufacturing processes
• Knowledge of powder coating equipment
Travel Requirements: 10%
