JOB DESCRIPTION:
QUALITY ENGINEERING CO-OP This co-op position is for a student majoring in Operations, Mechanical Engineering, or Industrial and Systems Engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. A co-op in this position will work primarily in the Quality Department.
Job Responsibilities
โ€ข Participate in the development and implementation of projects aimed at improving customer satisfaction, quality systems, and operational efficiency
โ€ข Monitor, analyze, and report customer and supplier quality metrics
โ€ข Participate on product launch teams to complete requirements for quality engineering, including product scorecards, control plans, PFMEAs, and process flows
โ€ข Manage assigned customer requirements โ€ข Contribute and participate in ISO9000/IATF16949 compliance and auditing
โ€ข Complete Gage R&R and Capabilities studies using statistical tools โ€ข Develop quality corrective actions as assigned
โ€ข Conduct competitive baseline analysis for warranty performance
โ€ข Conduct warranty trend analysis (specific product failure analysis of warranty returns)
โ€ข Manage the warranty critical failure mode process
โ€ข Investigate and contribute to the resolution of customer or supplier issues (potential for travel as required) โ€ข Support merger and acquisition processes
โ€ข Assist with process improvement projects, including use of six sigma tools and lean and project management skills as required
โ€ข Support supplier improvement projects, including VDA audits and supplier evaluations
โ€ข Serve as a liaison for Plant Quality, Supplier Quality, Operations personnel, Engineering, and other functional disciplines
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
โ€ข Currently attending an accredited college or university
โ€ข 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher
โ€ข Resourceful - not intimidated by substantial assignments
โ€ข Self motivated and able to learn new assignments quickly
โ€ข Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced, team-focused environment
โ€ข Enthusiastic work approach โ€ข Knowledge of statistical tools preferred
โ€ข Proficient in Microsoftยฎ Office Tools: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access/Query
