As an Engineering Associate supporting federal projects, you'll gain hands-on experience working alongside licensed engineers on infrastructure that serves communities and national priorities. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepares and reviews design computations, plan sets, and engineering drawings in accordance with federal standards (e.g., USACE, NAVFAC, FHWA).
  • Assists with the development and coordination of submittals for federal agencies, ensuring accuracy and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Prepares and reviews technical specifications, reports, and correspondence aligned with federal guidelines and project documentation standards.
  • Performs site visits, inspections, and field investigations on active federal project sites to support design validation and construction progress.
  • Researches, interprets, and applies federal, state, and local regulations, including environmental and permitting requirements, to project designs.
  • Maintains thorough and organized project documentation in compliance with federal recordkeeping standards.
  • Applies knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and criteria specific to federal and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Develops clear, accurate, and high-quality engineering deliverables suitable for agency review and approval.
  • Supports quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) processes to ensure compliance, consistency, and technical excellence across deliverables.
  • Assists in managing project tasks within defined scopes, schedules, and budgets.
  • Collaborates with project teams, clients, and stakeholders, including federal agency representatives, to support successful project delivery.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's Degree in position relevant Engineering field from ABET accredited school.
  • Experience: No previous relevant work experience is required. Prior internships in the A/E industry is preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Engineer in Training (EIT) preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrates a strong desire to expand knowledge and take on new responsibilities within the engineering field.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or other discipline-specific programs preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook).
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet project deadlines effectively.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a project team.
