Job description

Rogers Group is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our Quality Department. This entry-level position will assist with testing asphalt, aggregates, and other construction materials to help ensure compliance with company and DOT specifications. The successful candidate will receive on-the-job training and have opportunities for career growth within the quality control field.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collect material samples from asphalt plants, quarries, and construction sites. 
  • Perform basic laboratory and field testing on asphalt, aggregates, and other materials. 
  • Record and maintain accurate test results and quality control documentation. 
  • Assist with asphalt mix design testing and quality assurance activities. 
  • Monitor material quality and report any issues to Quality personnel. 
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and keep work areas clean and organized. 
  • Follow all company safety policies and procedures. 
  • Work closely with plant personnel and operations teams to support quality objectives. 

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Previous construction, laboratory, or materials testing experience is a plus but not required. 
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office. 
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn. 
  • Good communication and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. 
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds. 
  • Ability to travel to asphalt plants, quarries, and construction sites as needed.
