Job description

Do you enjoy ensuring designs meet specified standards? Do you like to be on teams that provide lasting infrastructure? Do you like to exceed client expectations and regulatory requirements? Our Federal Team at Garver is looking for a Quality Control Specialist to help ensure our design solutions will exceed requirements and expectations.
As part of the Federal Team, the Quality Control Specialist will assist in overseeing Garver’s Federal Team’s Total Quality Management Program, which supervises quality reviews of architecture and engineering deliverables including detailed design plans, specifications, and reports for a variety of site and building projects throughout the United States.
Day to day responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
  • Organize and coordinate multi-discipline Quality Control Reviews
  • Participating in the review of civil-related portions of
    • Project Plans
    • Project specifications
    • Design Reports
  • Assist with review of civil-related construction submittals
  • Join design progress meetings for select projects
  • Ensure appropriate quality control procedures are followed
  • Maintenance of appropriate documentation in accordance with project contract requirements
Some occasional travel may be required for industry-related conference attendance or project specific meetings. Due to the collaborative nature of coordination for large multi-faceted projects, candidates must have the ability to seek out and resolve issues through close interaction with other project team members. In addition, the candidate should be able to maintain a positive team attitude and interpersonal effectiveness to work within a team environment.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited program
  • 20+ years of site/civil project experience
  • Detail- oriented and a team player with strong self-initiative to meet deadlines
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office software programs such as Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Some travel may be required with occasional overnight stays
Preferred Skills:
  • USACE and other DoD-type projects
  • Construction observation and/or submittal reviews for site/civil-related projects
  • Registered Professional Engineer
