Software Engineer (Redhat Linux Migration)
Location: Tukwila, Washington (Onsite)
Role Overview
This role is for a Redhat expert to assist in moving a custom software suite from SUSE Linux to Redhat Linux. The custom software system, written in C and C++, is used for the acquisition of precision time-synchronized positional and RF data. The role involves designing, programming, testing, implementing, documenting, and maintaining computing applications, as well as gathering and evaluating end-user requirements.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, program, test, and implement computing applications.
  • Write and compile code and construct database objects based on documented design.
  • Analyze information to determine architecture specifications and parameters for software compatibility.
  • Modify or upgrade applications to maintain software functionality.
  • Identify and resolve programming or application architecture problems.
  • Review system performance and recommend improvements.
  • Assist in the migration of a custom software suite from SUSE Linux to Redhat Linux.
Required Qualifications
Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in C, C++, Python, Qt, Git, TCP/UDP, and tcpdump.
Experience: Experience with Linux is required. This position also requires a U.S. Person for purposes of Export Compliance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with Windows is also desired.
