Job Title: Quality Assurance TechnicianJob Description

The Quality Assurance Technician performs routine analytical testing of finished and semi-finished food and beverage products to ensure they meet all applicable food safety and quality standards. In this role, you support the quality assurance program by holding non-conforming product, assisting in the development of corrective actions, and contributing to training efforts that strengthen food safety practices across the operation. You work closely with production and laboratory teams to maintain consistent product quality and support continuous improvement in a growing organization.

Responsibilities
  • Perform routine analytical testing on finished and semi-finished food and beverage products to verify compliance with established food safety and quality standards.
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance checks in accordance with HACCP and SQF requirements.
  • Identify, document, and hold non-conforming product to prevent release of out-of-specification materials.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of corrective actions for quality and food safety issues.
  • Support and participate in food safety and quality training for team members, reinforcing best practices and standard operating procedures.
  • Maintain accurate laboratory records, test results, and quality documentation in line with regulatory and certification requirements.
  • Collaborate with production and quality teams to investigate quality deviations and recommend process improvements.
  • Apply principles of PCQI (Preventive Controls Qualified Individual) and other food safety programs as applicable to daily activities.
  • Support internal and external audits related to HACCP, SQF, and other food safety or quality certifications.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement within the quality assurance function, sharing observations and ideas to enhance product quality and consistency.
Essential Skills
  • Minimum of 2 years of quality experience within the food industry.
  • Degree in a science-related discipline (such as food science, microbiology, chemistry, or a related field).
  • Hands-on experience with quality control and quality assurance testing in a laboratory or production environment.
  • Working knowledge of HACCP principles and their application in a food manufacturing setting.
  • Familiarity with SQF or similar food safety certification schemes.

Work Environment

The position follows a D Crew schedule with hours from 5:45 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. on a 2-2-3 rotation, providing a predictable pattern of workdays and days off. Initial training will most likely take place on a first-shift schedule before transitioning to the regular shift. You work in a laboratory and production environment that emphasizes food safety, quality control, and adherence to HACCP and SQF standards. The setting requires consistent compliance with plant safety rules, hygiene practices, and appropriate attire for a food manufacturing facility.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Neenah, WI.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.56 - $24.56/hr.
