Job description

Position Overview

Reports directly to the QA Manager and interacts with all levels of the organization. Works to improve overall effectiveness of the quality management system (QMS) and quality assurance initiatives such as continuous improvement and customer fulfillment. Assists operations and quality management to ensure process control and product conformity is satisfied in accordance with established procedures and policies.

Essential Job Functions

  • Reviews job tickets for specifications and any customer or Diamond special instructions.
  • Follows all standard operating procedures relevant to job, position and department.
  • Communicates with other departments on order status and completion.
  • Must be able to complete quality documentation.
  • Performs visual quality inspections and finished product audits to meet predetermined customer quality specifications and standards.
  • Effectively navigates ERP system (Amtech).
  • Participates in internal quality audits.
  • Documents all inspections and any non-conformances found during inspection.
  • Maintains, understands and is able to use various types of measuring equipment.
  • Cooperates with other co-workers and operations personnel in a team effort to identify potential quality issues.
  • May be asked to assist in the resolution of customer complaints.
  • Reviews job folder prior to production.
  • Reviews, approves and files completed job folders.
  • Assists with product sorting.
  • Reviews and approves customer samples.
  • Completes Certificate of Compliance (C of C) or Certificate of Assurance (C of A).
  • Provides technical assistance to production staff and other departments.
  • Assists the shift in decision making and issue resolution escalating serious issues to Management.
  • Reviews and revises QA Department Diamond Work Instructions (DWI) as required.
  • Interacts with all co-workers in a cooperative spirit.
  • Discusses and ensures that all job status and issues are thoroughly communicated to the on-coming shift.
  • Observes all safety rules and procedures.
  • Keeps work area organized, neat, and clean.
  • Performs other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have high school diploma, G.E.D, or equivalent.
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, job tickets, and procedural manuals.
  • Must be able to perform basic arithmetic including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
  • Must have attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Must be able to complete and maintain detailed records.
  • Must have computer skills including Word and Excel.
  • Must have ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • ISO9001 experience preferred.
  • General understanding of manufacturing processes is preferred.
  • Must have 1-3 years of experience in quality assurance.
  • Will be required to pass color blindness Munsell 100 testing.
  • Must be able to use standard measurement tools to inspect product.
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to maintain good attendance.
  • Must be willing to work overtime as needed.
