The Solar QAQC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control) Technician is responsible for ensuring solar projects meet quality, safety, and compliance standards throughout the full project lifecycle - including design review, construction, installation, commissioning, closeout, and ongoing maintenance. This role supports inspections, testing, customer walkthroughs, documentation, and long-term system performance verification to ensure projects meet company standards, customer expectations, and regulatory requirements.
This is a Part-time position within the NV Market, Possible FT hours as needed.

Key ResponsibilitiesDevelopment & Design QAQC
  • Review preliminary and final design drawings for constructability, accuracy, and code compliance.
  • Verify equipment specifications, vendor submittals, and project documentation.
  • Ensure QAQC standards are incorporated throughout engineering and permitting processes.
  • Support document control and revision tracking.
  • Identify and communicate potential quality or compliance risks during project development.
Construction & Installation QAQC
  • Perform inspections of mechanical, structural, and electrical solar installations.
  • Verify work aligns with engineering drawings, specifications, NEC requirements, and local regulations.
  • Monitor workmanship quality and identify corrective actions as needed.
  • Support field teams and subcontractors in maintaining quality standards and safety compliance.
Testing & Commissioning
  • Conduct system testing including string testing, insulation resistance testing, inverter startup, IV curve tracing, and system verification.
  • Validate system performance against project and manufacturer standards.
  • Document deficiencies and track corrective actions through completion.
Customer Walkthrough & Project Closeout
  • Lead final inspections, customer walkthroughs, and punch list completion.
  • Provide customer orientation on system operation, monitoring platforms, and maintenance procedures.
  • Ensure closeout packages including as-builts, test reports, warranties, and inspection documentation are complete.
  • Support final customer acceptance and project turnover.
Annual Maintenance & Ongoing QAQC
  • Perform annual inspections and preventative maintenance evaluations.
  • Conduct performance checks and monitoring reviews to ensure long-term system reliability.
  • Coordinate with service teams on warranty issues, repairs, and system upgrades.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships through ongoing technical support and communication.
Documentation & Collaboration
  • Maintain detailed QAQC reports, inspection records, and photographic documentation.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, installers, subcontractors, and customers to resolve quality concerns.
  • Support training and continuous improvement efforts across field and service teams.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Open to PT position with Travel
  • 2+ years of experience in solar installation, QAQC, inspections, commissioning, or maintenance.
  • Knowledge of solar PV systems, NEC, OSHA, and industry quality standards.
  • Experience using testing equipment such as multimeters, insulation testers, thermal imaging cameras, and IV curve tracers.
  • Strong attention to detail, communication skills, and customer-facing professionalism.
  • NABCEP certification or equivalent preferred.
Work Environment
  • Combination of office-based design review and field-based inspections, commissioning, and maintenance visits.
  • Exposure to outdoor conditions, construction sites, and electrical systems.
  • PPE compliance and adherence to safety protocols required.

Travel requirements for this role are expected to range between 25%–50%, depending on project location, project phase, and business needs. Travel may include site visits, inspections, commissioning support, customer walkthroughs, and coordination with field teams across multiple project locations.
